Your Path to Homeownership Just Got Easier — Save Up to $130,000 as a First-Time Buyer
Federal GST Rebate (Announced)
On May 27, the Federal Government announced the First-Time Homebuyers’ GST Rebate, which removes the 5% GST on new homes priced up to $1M, and reduces it for first-time buyers purchasing between $1M and $1.5M.
This rebate allows qualified first-time homebuyers to save up to $50,000 on a new home purchase.
If eligible, you may claim the GST Rebate upon closing, directly from the Government.
Ontario PST Rebate (Proposed)
The Ontario Government has proposed an 8% PST Rebate aimed at further reducing the cost of purchasing a new home. If enacted, this rebate would combine with the federal GST program for total potential savings of up to $130,000 for qualifying first-time buyers.
